Video: Mehndi (henna tattoo) on my head

We had a very quiet Thanksgiving, Mark and I celebrated by ourselves at home. We went for an afternoon walk at Petrifying Springs in Kenosha. Then on Saturday my girlfriend Michelle came over and decorated my head with a henna tattoo (also known as Mehndi) using the henna cones my neighbor Angela so generously lent me last week. I am so happy with the results. Michelle did a wonderful job on her first time working with henna. I look forward to having it done again while my head is still bald.

On Monday afternoon I had my second treatment of Taxol and I’m feeling pretty good. I did notice over the past few days a little tingling in my fingertips and toes. This is something that the doctor told me could happen. The common side effect from Taxol is peripheral neuropathy. I just hope that it doesn’t get too bad and that it does not hang around permanently.

    Amy,
I’m so happy that you made the connection that Susan was my daughter, and that we could connect again.

I’m sorry that you have to journey down this particular path, but I can see that you are doing it with grace, dignity, and a very positive attitude.

I will continue to follow your blog, which by the way is fabulous.

Sending you peace, prayers, and always my friendship.

Paulette It’s so funny how people come in and out of touch. I was so happy to talk to Susan the other day. It’s such a small world.

      Thanks for the kind words.

I LOVE it Amy!! Michelle is really talented. Remember years ago when Jennifer Aniston got some popular hairstyle that became known as ‘the Rachel’ (for her Friends character)? Well I’m going to call this The Amy cuz not only is it so you but I have a feeling its going to take off!

Yeah Michelle did a fabulous job!

I hope to have it done again a couple of times before my hair grows back.

The henna looks cool. The neuropathy is not fun. I still have it in my left foot. I showed you my toe on my left foot. This is what happens if it does not go away. You get used to the feeling. I am sure most will go away. Glad to see you are feeling well.

Cindy the tingling hasn’t happened too much today. I guess if this is the worst side effect I can live with it. I would rather have the cancer gone and deal with a little tingling.

Love the henna! It will be shame to cover it with a scarf or hat. It was so nice to chat with you the other day and hear the positive vibes coming through…be well, hugs to you.

I have been showing it off as much as possible. I really love it.

I enjoyed hearing your voice the other day and wish we could have a nice Saturday afternoon together with the girls. It’s nice to have those good memories.

    Hi Amy,

How is the Taxol (?) working now? I believe you had another treatment since your video. Is it working like it should.

On a side note if you can make it to Christmas I have wonderful recipes that I know you and Mark will love. Very healthy and full of spices!

    Let’s see how it goes.

    Love you Amy,
    Karen

Hi Karen – I think the Taxol is working fine. I have had a little tingling in my fingers just the one day, not much to complain about so far.

I am looking forward to joining the family for Christmas. I know the recipes that you have picked out will be fabulous. I guess we will just have to see how everyone else is feeling.

      I love you too Karen.

My friend got the tingling in her extremities and it did go away completely, so hopefully yours does too eventually.
