I saw yet another startling demonstration today of how quickly one short, local message can zip through the Internet and find its own target.

We needed some locksmith work done, so Amy recommended Racine’s Hoernel Key Shop, Inc. because they have done very good work for her in the past. After their service call, I was so impressed with them that I decided to send a quick recommendation out via Twitter and my other social networking thingamajigs.

Less than a minute later, one of our neighbors messaged me on MySpace to ask about it, because he needs a little locksmith work done. Next, another MySpace friend left a message on my profile applauding a locksmith by the same name in Kenosha, and praising great local small businesses in general.

This social media stuff is amazing.
