‘The Digg Reel’

Here at the Mark Czerniec Internet Testing Laboratories, we like The Digg Reel. As a matter of fact, we have secretly been enjoying The Digg Reel since — well, since September 6, which is when we discovered Miro, the thing we use to download and watch The Digg Reel.

What is The Digg Reel? It’s a 14, 15, 17-minute-ish weekly Internet television show from Revision3 showcasing some of the most popular video clips on Digg.com, the very popular Internet popularity contest. It’s kind of a cross between The Soup on E! with Joel McHale and the “Oddball” segment on MSNBC’s Countdown with Keith Olbermann (Please remind me to watch the two-night “Oddball” year in review special that Olbermann airs every year between Christmas and New Year’s in lieu of working. It is hilarious.)

Anyway, in the case of The Digg Reel, Andrew Bancroft is the funny guy with the video screen full of clips, and he’s pretty entertaining. The videos are almost all guaranteed winners, since they’ve made it to the top of the big Digg popularity filter, and if there’s something you don’t like, it’s only going to last a minute or so anyway. Warning to the easily offended: There may be swears and boobies.
