Waikiki Beach, Honolulu, Hawaii — Memorabilia of 1930s and 1940s Hawaii displayed in the historic room on the second floor of the Moana Surfrider hotel. Built in 1901, the Moana Hotel is often called “The First Lady of Waikiki” and hosted the famous “Hawaii Calls” radio show, as well as many early jet-setters and celebrities.Shown here is sheet music for “Hawaiian War Chant” and “Across the Sea,” the theme song of Ray Kinney, as well as a photo of Shirley Temple who in 1935 performed “On the Good Ship Lollipop” on the steps of Iolani Palace.
